What does the weekly schedule look like for Egress?
Egress participants will be actively
involved at Melchizedek House of Prayer in teaching times, ministry/works of justice and prayer. Time spent in prayer can include times of individual prayer, corporate
intercession, personal study, meditation on the Word and devotional worship. For more information on the breakdown of time spent in prayer, the classroom, works of justice and ministry, please see this page.
Do I Need a
Car?
All Egress participants must provide
their own reliable transportation. Exceptions are possible with prior
approval. All personal vehicles must have valid insurance coverage.
Do I Need a
Laptop Computer?
Much of the day-to-day
communication in the MZHOP community takes place over the Internet through e-mail. It is highly recommended that Egress
participants have at least one laptop computer per family in order to
journal, study, and communicate. We have found that a laptop is very
useful in the ongoing study of the Scriptures. Laptops should have a
wireless network card.
Are There
Any Other Rules for Egress Participants?
You are expected to be free of any
personal addictions (to alcohol, drugs, tobacco, pornography, etc.)
before applying for Egress. Due to the intensity of this program, it is
recommended that you be free from any such addictions for at least six
months prior to your arrival. Our desire is for Egress participants to
be able to focus their undivided attention upon the Lord, rather than
struggling with frequent temptations in the area of a recently-overcome
addiction.
Attendance during all scheduled
Egress hours is required in order to remain in the program. Exceptions
will be made for illnesses and family emergencies.
Are Children
Allowed to Participate in Egress?
Teenagers may be enrolled in Egress if at
least one of their parents is enrolled, though parents should consider
whether or not the teenage child is mature enough to handle the focused schedule of teaching, ministry/works of justice and reading involved. While at MZHOP, or during any scheduled
Egress events, teenagers under the age of eighteen must be accompanied
by a parent at all times.
Children
under the age of thirteen may not be enrolled in Egress.
How Much
Does Egress Cost?
The cost of
the internship will be subsidized by time spent in prayer, ministry and
works of justice. Interns will only be responsible for the cost of
purchasing the required books and any personal expenses, food, etc. More information on books required and
ministry/works of justice may be found on this page. This topic will
also be covered more in depth during our first day of class.
Where Can I Purchase the Books Required for Egress?
Books can be purchased through the IHOP.org Store and also through other book sellers such as Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. Some of the books are only available through IHOP.org and a few are also available for free in PDF form at MikeBickle.org. Please see this page for more detailed information and the list of books required for Egress.
Are Meals
Provided in the Cost of the Program?
All Egress
participants will be responsible for bringing and/or buying and
preparing their own meals.
What
Personal Expenses Should I Expect?
You are responsible for providing the
necessary personal finances to cover your food, housing, social
activities, and any other personal expenditures during the program.
